Lake Zug

Lake Zug offers sports and leisure activities for all water fans.

197 m deep and reaches up to 24 °C in summer.
Several lidos invite you to relax and sunbathe.
In addition to pedal boat and kayak hire, there is also a sailing and wakesurfing school on site.
Trend sports such as stand-up paddling are also on offer.

If you want to go on an extended hike, you can circle the lake on the 38-kilometre trail.
You will always have a great view of the water, the valley and the mountains of Central Switzerland.

If you don’t want to move yourself, you can take a leisurely boat trip on the lake.

Hiking

The Freiämterweg is the heart of hiking in Freiamt (the region around Oberrüti) – well-signposted hiking trails, unforgettable panoramic views and a network of around 200 kilometers of trails through the natural landscapes of Freiamt and to impressive witnesses of the region’s cultural diversity.

Alternatively, an excursion to the nearby prominent Mount Rigi is possible with various popular hiking trail options:

Biking

Central Switzerland also offers numerous exciting opportunities for mountain bike tours.

From Mount Rigi to Engelberg, the region around Oberrüti offers a selection of different trails at various levels of difficulty within a short distance.

Golfing

A golf course in the immediate vicinity is nestled in the natural surroundings of Lake Zug.
The 18-hole course is located in Holzhäusern and offers a fantastic view of Lake Zug and the mountain range rising behind it.
However, the course is not only impressive thanks to its attractive surroundings, but also from a sporting point of view.

Play tennis

The hotspot for tennis players.
Cham and Hünenberg offer ideal conditions for all tennis fans with their outdoor tennis courts in the immediate vicinity of Lake Zug.
SportsZugerland has several indoor tennis courts.
There are also facilities for squash, badminton, billiards & snooker, indoor golf, darts and table tennis.

Nightlife

Dance your way through the numerous party locations in Zug and Lucerne and pay a visit to the famous “Roadhouse” Lucerne, the “Schwarzes Schaf” Lucerne or the “Lounge & Gallery (LG)” Club Zug, for example.

Indoor pool and wellness

The “Allmend” indoor pool in Lucerne offers an exciting, sporty experience for young and old with its large swimming pool, adventure pool, diving pool, children’s paddling pool and a water slide.

If you want to take it a little easier and prefer wellness with a whirlpool, sauna and massages, the Eichstätte fitness park in Zug is just the place for you.
There you can recover from a strenuous day and relax.

Gym and fitness classes

In the nearby municipality of Rotkreuz, there is an Activ-Fitness gym right next to the train station.
During opening hours, you can buy a single entry ticket at reception and train on the equipment or take part in the daily fitness classes.
The sauna area (separate for men and women) can also be used.

Rope park

Off to an outdoor adventure!
The Rigi rope park offers fun and action for the whole family.
A rope park with 8 routes over a length of around 4 km awaits you, guaranteeing fun and thrills.
The heights vary and the individual routes offer different challenges.

Arth-Goldau Zoo

Goldau Nature and Animal Park is the family-friendly local recreation area in Central Switzerland.
It is open all year round and is home to around 100 native and European wild animal species.
One of the many highlights is the open area accessible to visitors, where the sika deer and mouflons can be fed with special zoo food.

Paintball farm

Our neighboring municipality of Dietwil is home to one of the largest paintball fields in Switzerland for action fans!
It extends over 4 floors and is set up like a huge adventure playground.
